While at the World Of Concrete this year, Hilti announced their new warranty/Lifetime Service agreement. This lifetime service agreement does not compare with any other warranty that is being offered by any other tool company.
Hilti calls their new service agreement the 20/2/1 program. Covering the tools for 20 years, complete repair of the tool for 2 years at no cost to the user and guaranteeing a one day turn around on repairs.
So, what does this mean for the user? It means for two years from the date of purchase, if you have any issues with the tool, they will pick up the tab for shipping costs, repair costs, etc. After that time, you only have to pay a percentage of the costs for shipping/repair/etc. Unlike other warranties, Hilti’s warranty includes wear and tear for the first two years.
Hilti’s lifetime service agreement will cover against manufacturing defects. So what does this mean to you? It means Hilti will repair or replaces, free of charge, all tools that suffer faults or defects as a result of faulty materials or manufacturing faults – over the entire life of the product.
Covering wear and tear is a big deal, and Hilti is stepping up with this warranty to cover that, which will get you back to work a lot quicker and shows that they are backing their tools more than ever with this new warranty.
