On the floor at the annual Specialty Tools and Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) Trade Show, which opened today in Phoenix, Makita demonstrated its industry leadership to the nation’s independent dealers and industry press with a range of new solutions for contractors. Here is a portion of the new innovation revealed at the STAFDA trade show:
18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 6.0Ah Battery with L.E.D. Charge Level Indicator (BL1860)The less time a battery sits on the charger, the more time it’s powering the tool. Makita offers the industry’s most efficient 18V Lithium-Ion batteries with the fastest charge times in their categories. The new 6.0Ah battery reaches a full charge in only 55 minutes, provides 100% more run time than the Makita 3.0Ah battery, and has an on-board L.E.D. charge level indicator. (available February 2016)
18V X2 LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless Recipro Saw (XRJ06M/Z) What can your 18V Lithium-Ion battery do for you? How about delivering corded power and run time? Makita 18V X2 technology is powered by two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries, so users can unplug the cord with an 18V X2 rotary hammer, circular saw, chain saw, miter saw and more. The latest addition to the 18V X2 line-up is the XRJ06M/Z Recipro Saw, which has an efficient brushless motor and an industry-leading 1-1/4” stroke length for faster cutting. Users benefit with 36V power and run-time, but without leaving the 18V platform. (available Summer 2016)
18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless Recipro Saw (XRJ05M/Z) Makita is a leading innovator in the brushless category, and among the latest wave of new brushless tool releases is a new 18V brushless recipro saw, model XRJ05M. Like the 18V X2 recipro saw (model XRJ06M/Z), the XRJ05M/Z has a category-leading 1-1/4” stroke length. Also available in a non-brushless model (XRJ04M/Z). (available Spring 2016)
Three New 18V LXT Lithium-Ion High Torque Impact Wrenches Makita is a leading innovator in cordless impact tools, and Makita is releasing three new 18V Brushless Impact Wrenches that go straight to the top of their class. Attendees at STAFDA were the first to try out three new 18V LXT® Brushless High Torque Impact Wrenches with ¾” Square Drive (XWT07M/Z, with 780 ft.lbs. of torque), ½” Square Drive (XWT08M/Z, 740 ft.lbs. of torque, pictured at top-right) and 7/16” Hex Chuck (XWT09T/Z, 740 ft.lbs. of torque). All three tools have the highest torque in their categories, and feature 3-speed power selection and an electric brake for added precision and convenience. (available February 2016)
18V X2 LXT® Lithium-Ion (36V) Brushless 7-1/2” Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw (XSL02Z) Makita’s leadership in powerful and precise miter saws is further extended into the cordless category with the new XSL02Z, which is powered by two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries for performance that rivals a corded saw. The efficient brushless motor delivers a full 5,700 RPM, highest in the category, for more speed and faster, smoother cutting. Users also benefit with 36V power and run time, but without leaving the 18V battery platform. (available December 2015)
18V X2 LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless HEPA Vacuum (XCV04Z) Makita is expanding its groundbreaking line-up of 18V X2 solutions with a new HEPA Vacuum. Powered by two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries, users can cut the cord for fast and convenient wet or dry clean-ups, with up to 65 minutes of run time when using two 18V 5.0Ah batteries. Also available without the HEPA filter (model XCV03Z). Users benefit with 36V power and run-time, but without leaving the 18V platform. For added versatility, both the XCV04Z and XCV03Z also offer corded operation. (available March 2016)
New 12V max CXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Tool Line-up The next generation of 12V max cordless tools combine performance with superior ergonomics in a compact size. The introductory 12V max CXT combo kit (CT226) is available now and includes a 12V max CXT drill and impact driver. In January 2016 the CXT line expands with more 12V max tools including a ¼” hex driver-drill, 3/8” hammer driver-drill, recipro saw, 3-3/8” circular saw, and impact driver available in single-tool kits and combo kit configurations (including the CT226RX, pictured at mid-right) – and more 12V max CXT tools will be added in 2016. The line-up features slide-style 12V max CXT Lithium-Ion batteries in 2.0Ah and 4.0Ah with on-board L.E.D. charge level indicators. (January 2016)
